How Grizzly’s Award-Winning Sauce Came to Life

What started as a weekend ritual around the smoker quickly lit a fire that couldn’t be put out. In 2018, Pit Master Ryan Hoffman decided to take his backyard BBQ obsession to the next level. Smoking meats for friends and family was just the beginning—soon, his passion grew into a mission: to enhance every bite with unforgettable flavor.

But no great BBQ is complete without a sauce that truly hits. Tired of tweaking store-bought bottles to get the flavor just right, Ryan set out to craft his own. The result? A finger-lickin’, flavor-packed sauce so bold, it left everything else in the dust. With his wife Caitlin by his side, the duo bottled up that backyard magic—and Grizzly’s Signature Sauce was born. And the bbq world took notice. In 2021, their Signature Sauce earned 5th place in the Beef Category at BBQ Magazine’s Sauces of Honor National Competition—proving this was more than just a homemade hit.

Today, Grizzly’s BBQ is a proudly family-run business with one simple mission: help you create legendary meals and lasting memories around the grill.
